Gina + Tomy

La historia de Gina y Tomy es una de esas que vale la pena sentarse a escuchar, no es una de todos los días. Y tampoco el casamiento iba a ser “uno de todos los días”, lógicamente. En diciembre me llamaron para avisarme que habían llegado a Argentina (viven en USA) y se casaban… en menos de un mes! Rápidamente nos reunimos, charlamos un rato y se fueron con una larga lista de contactos. Y mientras tanto, visitaban parientes en Rosario, Buenos Aires y Montevideo…
En sus preparativos, la inquieta Gina quería estar bien tranquila, al principio sólo acompañada por su amiga Mili. Más tarde su mamá, y bien al final se completó la habitación con sus cuñadas y más amigas, para escoltarla camino a la Iglesia. Y en el momento justo, también se sumó Leilén Tomás para ayudarme con las fotos (mil gracias Lei!!).
En La Catedral, Tomy ya vivía ese momento tan especial mientras su hermano Toti terminaba de prepararse para casarlos. Sí, su propio hermano era el sacerdote que bendeciría este matrimonio. Único.
La ceremonia obviamente fue muy especial, además de políglota. Y a la salida, otro detalle que no querían olvidar: una vuelta en moto… y el fotógrafo siguiéndolos! :p
Punta Barranca se vistió de fiesta para recibirnos ese caluroso jueves (era jueves, por si olvidé mencionarlo), pero con el alivio del aire acondicionado todos se animaron a bailar prácticamente sin descanso. Hubo de todo: fotocabina, banda con Tomy y Gina, baile hebreo, cotillón y mucha fiesta. Y al amanecer, por si quedaba alguna foto por hacer, se volvieron conmigo en el auto. De principio a fin, un resumen de una linda noche de verano…

The story of Gina and Tomy is worth hearing, it is not an “everyday” story. All the same, their wedding was not an “everyday” wedding. They called me in December to tell me they had arrived to Argentina (they live in the US) and they were getting married… in less than a month! We set a fast meeting, and after some chatting they got a big contact list to keep planning the big day. At the same time, they were visiting relatives in Rosario, Buenos Aires and Montevideo…
For her “Getting Ready”, restless Gina just wanted to be quiet, at the beginning only accompanied by her friend Mili. Later, her Mom arrived and at the end the room was full with her sisters in law and some more friends to escort her to the church. 
At the Cathedral, Tomy was already living a special moment, as his brother Toti was finishing details for the ceremony. Yes, his own brother was the Priest who was about to bless this new marriage. Unique.
The ceremony was obviously very special, translations included. Outside, another detail they didn’t want to miss: a scooter-ride around the Cathedral… and the photographer following them! :p
That warm Thursday, “Punta Barranca” dressed to party to receive us, and the air-conditioner gave us all the relief we needed to make the show go on. Everything happened that night: photocabine, rock band with Tomy and Gina, Hebrew dance, costumes and a tremendous party. By sunrise, just in case there were any photos left, I gave them a ride to the hotel. From the start to the end, a summary of a beautiful summer night…
